- "The tremors are being caused by that whale. It's trapped beneath the ice!"
- ―Will Turner
- "Terrible shame, that. Captain Jack Sparrow is friend to all the creatures of the sea, large and small."
- ―Jack Sparrow
The White Whale is a large sperm whale appeared in the videogame Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow. The most notable characteristic of this whale is, as the name suggests, his/her white coloration resembling that of the legendary famous Moby Dick. Although the sex of this sperm whale is unclear, this individual is possibly a male because the following two factors, dwelling without families or pods and migrating to more polar waters, are characteristics of a mature male.
When Jack Sparrow and Will Turner discover the whale, he/she was trapped in a lake under ice for unknown reason and was trying to flee and causing tremors to the ice cave, the base of the cursed Viking King. After the battle with Viking King and his minions including cursed warriors and ice monsters, the two obtained a magical horn and found out that its sound is capable of breaking/thinning ices. When the Viking King re-appeared and tried to attack the two, Jack blew the horn and signaled, and the whale broke through and breached out of the ice, and devoured the enemy.
Befriended with Jack and Will, the whale later helped them to flee the Interceptor trapped in ices. With Jack's whistle, the whale easily towed the stranded ship, saving the protagonists again.
- Even though sperm whales are the largest of toothed animals on earth, they never eat mankind.
- Male sperm whales have tremendous strength and power; single whales are capable of sinking a large whaling vessels, emitting powerful, focused ultrasonic waves so called "sonic beam" to stun giant squids, and routing away packs of killer whales and leading pods of females and calves when the females call for helps as being under attack by orcas.
