This mansion was the residence of Governor Weatherby Swann, his daughter Elizabeth Swann and their staff, in Port Royal following their crossing from England. It was located in the fashionable St. Paul's district.[1]
The grand mansion was situated far from the squalour of Port Royal's docks and slums. It came under siege by the crew of the Black Pearl during the raid on Port Royal, during which Elizabeth was kidnapped. The mansion was struck by cannonfire, and many of its valuables plundered by the pirates. By the time Weatherby returned to his wrecked home, Elizabeth was already sailing from the port as Hector Barbossa's captive.[1]
