Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann after marriage.

"Elizabeth Swann, do you take me to be your husband?"
"I do."
"Great."
"Will Turner, do you take me...to be your wife...in sickness and in health...with health being the less likely?"
"...I do.

Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann[src]

These two families were the bloodlines of both the Turner family and the Swann family. The known members of the Turner family lived in Glasgow, Scotland, while the Swann family lived in London, England.

"Typical Jack. Now I’ll never get home... never see my beloved family again..."
"Aye, it’s a right shame. To tear a man away from his bonny lass and bright-eyed boy! What kind of friend would do such a thing?

Behind the scenes[]

Swann family coat of arms

The Swann family coat of arms.

  • The name "Turner and Swann family" comes from the fact that the Turner and Swann family became one after the marriage of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann.
  • In the D23 Expo exhibit A Pirate's Life for Me: Disney’s Rascals, Scoundrels, Really Bad Eggs, the Swann family coat of arms was revealed to be lions over a galleon at sea with the motto "Historia Magistra Vitae" which means "history is life's teacher".[1]
