The Star of the Sea is a comic short story published in the Disney Adventures comics, set in the Pirates of the Caribbean during the Age of Piracy. It was published under the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest title.
Jack Sparrow and his crew are ambushed on the island of Vermelha in Guinea-Bissau. The Corsair Icahn Bau, better known as "Black Crow" wants to convey Jack and his crew to the East India Trading Company. He says that he would be paid in gold equal to the weight of Jack. Jack offers Icahn a diamond the size of a cannon ball, called the Star of the Sea, which by happy coincidence is on this island, in exchange for his freedom. Icahn agrees.
Jack, Joshamee Gibbs, "Black Crow" Bau and two of his men are sent to the depth of island, where they soon see the Devil's Mouth, which leads into the Devil's Belly, which houses the Star. Going into the Devil's Belly, they stumble upon a labyrinth, but Jack skillfully leads them through it. Coming out of the labyrinth, they meet Jack's old friend, the African Queen Oya.
