I believe that Bonnet may have stolen that ship, so instead of saying he did, we could say that he got a-hold-of the ship.

- Most pirates had their ships stolen from others. Ironically, the pirate that this fellow was probably named after, Stede Bonnet, had his ship legally built in a shipyard.--UskokViceroy of the Indies, Nemesis 14:46, May 12, 2018 (UTC)
