Ha, you wouldn't believe how long it took me to find the Visual Guide in bookstores, which led me to get the artbook online (or rather had a friend get it for me).

The "big spoiler" was just one concept art and one promotional image of the ''Black Pearl'' in a bottle (both with fairly detailed descriptions). So yea, it wasn't really a spoiler much, at least not now...just if you bought the book before you see the movie. Or haven't you seen ''On Stranger Tides'' yet?

A bit of interesting trivia which I had posted elsewhere:<br>The spoiler of the ''Black Pearl'' in a bottle had been speculated by fans since July 2010, because Johnny Depp (dressed as Jack) was holding a bottle on set. Even now, I sort of suspect some fans knew it as truth long before the film's release. But still...

It seems to be a bit mixed, from what I see in our polls. But in terms of actual comments made, it seems to be a positive choice. Personally, I'm neutral on it. To me, Gore is the one and only true director of ''Pirates''...second choice being Jim Byrkit, at least if I can't have him tied for first place(Verbinski/Byrkit make a great team; they also did ''Rango'', which was fun). Any other directing choices would be a decent choice rather than a great choice, in my opinion.

Having said that, I think Rønning and Sandberg are fairly good choices, but seems a bit odd. Surely two things probably made it vital to choose them: ''Kon-Tiki'' and Penélope Cruz. It is good to reunite cast and crew for another movie (no problems here, I don't think) but part of me asks the rhetorical question: how do we know ''Kon-Tiki'' won't be one of those rare successes? But my optimistic side says, let's wait until the potential flick is released. :)

Oh, realized that I may have implied that I thought the crew used Tia Dalma's magic to get to Singapore(my mistake; always get former and latter mixed up)...what I meant was that I thought they had sailed on the longboat. As I said in my original post, it is a stretch to believe that, but again Gore is one for absurdity so it could happen. Though I doubt they would have gotten a big ship; I'd have said they've gotten at least a fishing boat - I doubt Barbossa would've wanted a ship as big (if not bigger) than the ''Black Pearl''. Interesting to bring concept art into account, but then again it does seem a stretch given DMC and AWE were filmed back-to-back.

Just to note, I'm sure Tia wouldn't have the ability to transport too many people at once, but I wouldn't underestimate a mystic - especially one who is the human form of a goddess. Despite this, I sorta agree that Tia couldn't transport them to Singapore - elseways, the journey to World's End would've been much, much easier.

I assume you mean if anyone has read it? If so, I have. Bought my copy weeks before the release of OST - late April/early May, I think. It is an interesting read, save for one or two inaccuracies(i.e. Barbossa as an admiral). Definitely glad to know all the backstories on what goes on in the film, including personalities, which all seem in sync with what the film showed us.

Of course I'm glad it didn't spoil about what happened to the ''Black Pearl'', as that definitely had to be seen onscreen. Wish I could say the same with the Art of OST...love the art, but did give away the big spoiler in 2-3 pages.
