Shipwreck Island

Shipwreck Island was a tropical island. It was the location of Shipwreck Cove, which contained Shipwreck City.
In order to reach Shipwreck Cove, sailors were forced to pass through a narrow inlet known as The Devil's Throat, which claimed several ships each year. The Brethren Court held a meeting at Shipwreck Island prior to the decisive battle against Lord Cutler Beckett and the East India Trading Company. The final battle between the Pirates and Beckett, the Battle of Calypso's maelstrom was held offshore of the island. It was in this battle that Davy Jones and Cutler Beckett were killed, ending the war on piracy and putting the Flying Dutchman into Will Turner's command.

The Devil's Throat was the only way into the volcanic crater that housed Shipwreck City, and its treacherous passage claimed several vessels every year. These wrecks were subsequently added to the assembly of derelict ships that comprised the city itself.

Shipwreck City was located in the crater of a volcano, and its mass was comprised of hundreds of wrecked ships. Any ship wishing to reach the town was first forced to pass into the island through The Devil's Throat, a narrow passage that claimed several vessels each year.
The Pirate Lords assembled within Shipwreck City, and from there launched their fleets against Lord Beckett.
