Like smugglers, rumrunners were notorious for delivering contraband throughout the Caribbean. The only difference is that instead of delivering illegal spices and other goods, the rumrunners naturally only dealt with rum. These unknown fiends most notably worked off a base island known as Rumrunner's Isle, where they kept a secret cache of food, water and rum. It was on this island where the rumrunners met Jack Sparrow, who was marooned by Captain Hector Barbossa and his crew of the Black Pearl. Jack was able to barter passage off the island with the rumrunners aboard their ship. By the time of Jack's second return to the island, after being marooned yet again, the rumrunners were out of buisness, by the hands of James Norrington of the British Royal Navy.
