The Rivoli was a corvette held by Rabel Yverneau, a rogue French captain who assisted Nathaniel Hawk and Tobias, two English agents under Governor Robert Silehard.
The ship was used during an operation to uncover French plans in Oxbay. When the French learned of Tobias and Nathaniel's true agenda, they set out to attack the two spies; however, the two escaped the clutches of the guards, running to Rabel's ship in the port. They set out to sail for Redmond under hot pursuit from three powerful warships and fire from the guns of Oxbay's French-captured fort. The Rivoli's speed allowed her to outmaneuver her adversaries until they could no longer keep chase.
After their narrow escape, the three safely reached port Redmond after a short voyage. She was then added to the English navy.
Design and appearance[]
The Rivoli was a corvette of French design and one of the fastest ships in the archipelago, outpaced only by the likes of the Black Pearl. She was not particularly well-armed for a ship of her caliber, however, mounting thirty-two 12 pounder culverines instead of the more typical 24 pounders. 200 crewmen served aboard her.
