Differences between the film and the bookEdit
- The scenes at the Turkish Prison from where Captain Jack Sparrow escapes and Port Royal where Will Turner's and Elizabeth Swann's wedding is interrupted by Lord Cutler Beckett and his soldiers of the East India Trading Company are absent. The book starts when Sparrow finds Bootstrap Bill Turner below the deck of the Black Pearl.
- The Black Spot appears at Jack's hand without Bootstrap marking it.
- Many events at Isla de Pelegostos are omitted. It's never mentioned that Will and the rest of the crew fo the Black Pearl were locked in bone cages; instead, it's only said that most of Jack's crew (implying that Leech and his would-be mutineers perished) helped Turner and Sparrow to escape from the island.
