Behind the scenes[]
- The portion of the sign, "On this day in the 23rd year of His Majesty's Reign", shows proof that On Stranger Tides takes place in 1750.[1]
- The name "T. Morgan" on the sign could be a reference to Tom Morgan, a fictional pirate from Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel Treasure Island.
- Several of the names listed on the sign are repeated, many of them more than once.

Notes and references[]
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 Note this portion of the Pirate Execution sign, "On this day in the 23rd year of His Majesty's Reign". On Stranger Tides, in which this sign is used, takes place during the reign of King George II. As real-world history revealed that King George took the throne in 1727. That would mean King George's 23rd year in the throne would be in 1750.
