Just curious, are you intending to keep the image from this revision? Just checking because if not it has to be deleted. My view on things is if a non-POTC image isn't put on a userpage or something, it's deleted as there isn't a place for it.
Sorry to put this burden on you but always have to check with the image's uploader before I do anything hasty. Cheers! :)
Examined most of your edits and thought I should compile a "do's and don't's" for you to use as a reference. Anyway, here's what you should know based on previous edits:
Coding - Now majority of issues are the set up. Taking at the edit on the Ship article, where I just removed (or revised) most of the coding. Now I assume this be the work on "Visual mode", but we'll get to that later.
Past/Present Tense - focusing on the edits on here and here, you wrote "This first appeared..." or "In Curse of the Black Pearl..." or "In the films..." According to our manual of style, our articles need to be written using an in-universe perspective. The only time present tense should be used is in the "Behind the scenes" sections or articles applying only to the real-world (i.e. Disneyland, the movies, cast, etc) However real-world stuff that appears in-universe (like England, Florida) does need past tense in the "History" section.
Images - As guides usual do, POTC Wiki does need images as visuals. However, we mainly need screenshots, promos, etc not images that are considered fan-made(such as the one removed from the Ship article). Exceptions to that rule include replacing a background of an image or if it's something for decorating the Wiki - you can see most of it on the Main Page.
Unless if I'm forgetting something, that's pretty much it.
Now I'm sure points 2, 3, and 4 should make sense. But getting back to #1, which I'm sure is difficult to figure out, I do have a suggestion. Not alot of people realize Visual Mode is a bit hard to tackle (because of the "coding issue" I mentioned above) which is why I've pretty much always use "Source Mode". Of course the choice is yours if you want to use it - I'm only suggesting it now. But if you do use it, I guarantee it's a lot easier...especially when you link to other articles and stuff.
Not saying that we shouldn't link to Wikipedia, there are some articles we can't make or redirect so we could only link to Wikipedia(i.e. Benjamin Hornigold, linked on Blackbeard's infobox). Broadside, however, definitely deserves an article or at least a redirect to Codex:B, since it's fairly informative in the POTC universe.
Appreciate your work so far as well as sharing opinions. :)
Alrighty. But not sure if the image you used for Keel will work out, as we don't normally keep these type fan-made images...unless if it's making a better background or if it's something for the Main Page. Depends on what the other admin think, that image may get deleted.
Welcome to POTC Wiki! Several notes I wish to make clear...
Edit #1 - the sources referenced in that note say that the ship was sunk. No other available POTC source states the Vasa "flipped over", only that it sunk.
Edits #2 - all available POTC sources state that the Providence was a ship-of-war or frigate. Anything regarding if it's a fifth-rate man-o-war should be considered speculation for the time being. An example of why this is bad, before On Stranger Tides was released, we believed the Queen Anne's Revenge was a galleon because of its appearance. That was before official sources confirmed it was a frigate.
Your additions here and here seem more opinionated rather than needed information.
Main reason of reverting these edits is because there were no sources. Nothing is stated in the movies, no other source confirms any of this info...at least to my knowledge(though I seriously doubt anything was confirmed yet). Hope this explains much. Also, though they are already given to you, I suggest looking over our rules and guidelines.
Psst! Avast there! It be too late to alter course, mateys...
