"It's said it's possible to enter the bay of Khael Roa only twice a year....[a]ccording to the text it's a natural phenomenon that affects the tides."
Clement Aurentius[src]

Khael Roa was a small island located in the South Archipelago. It was in the shape of a perfect ring, and was made from black rock.

The island was unpopulated, but housed the only known Incan temple in the Archipelago. According to the researcher Clement Aurentius, a unique natural phenomenon prevented its shores from being accessed anytime but twice a year.

In 1631, Captain Nathaniel Hawk fought a fleet led by Redmond Governor Robert Christopher Silehard over the Temple's treasure. Nathaniel emerged victorious, and went inside the temple, only for his partner Danielle Greene to trigger a trap after touching a mysterious spherical artifact inside. This resulted in the destruction of the temple.

Afterwards, Nathaniel and his fleet encountered and sunk the ghost frigate Black Pearl using the artifact.
