Has anyone come up with dateline for potc yet? In other words, do the events take place just in a time frame, or is there an actual year for them. If I remember right Becket stated his letters of marque came from George III, who was in power from 1760-1801. It's cool to have an extra dimension to the story if it can be placed somewhere in time.
it was never specified which george signed the letters we just know that a King George signed them so it could have easily been George II who held the throne from 1727 to 1760 which during the end of the golden age of piracy so maby the films were in the 1740's or somthing. - According to my sources, the first film takes place in 1726, the second in 1729, and the third in 1729. BlackPearl14Pirate Lord-ess of the Caribbean 23:54, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Can you give them, please? I've heard about this timeframe as well, but not from official sources. Sounds like fanon... El Chupacabra
