"Prisoner claims to be innocent of being Jack Sparrow. How do you find?"
"No trial? But aren't we here to examine the evidence?"
"Foreman, your finding. Guilty?"
"Guilty verdict means he'll hang.

This man was known to be the foreman during the trial of Joshamee Gibbs, who was mistaken for Jack Sparrow, that took place at the Old Bailey in London.

Biography

"Guilty?"
"That's not fair!" [Crowd screams in approval]
"Shut it! [Bangs his gavel] Joshamee Gibbs. The crime of which you have been found guilty of, is being innocent of being Jack Sparrow. I hereby commute your sentence and order that you be imprisoned for the remainder of your miserable, moribund, mutton-chopped life.
"
―Foreman, Joshamee Gibbs and Justice Smith[src]

In 1750 this man was called to be the foreman during the trial against prisoner Joshamee Gibbs, who was mistaken as Captain Jack Sparrow. However, after the mysterious Justice Smith, Jack Sparrow himself in disguise, was called upon the court, he requested the verdict without evidence. Confused over what decision should be made, the foreman called the defendant guilty. After prisoner Gibbs was condemned to a life in prison, those present at the courtroom angrily reacted over this decision by booing and hissing. While the crowd started hurling groceries, the Bailiff ordered Gibbs to be transported to the Tower of London.[1] The further fate of this man after the unusual trial remains unknown.
