This ship was a small schooner that the shrimper and his brother used to fish all over the Caribbean Sea. The ship made several trips to Isla de Pelegostos to trade spices for "long pork." Will Turner sailed on this ship on his personal quest to find Jack Sparrow.
History[]
Little is known about this ship, other than that the shrimper came into possession of this schooner at some point in his life. The shrimper and his brother would use this vessel regularly to conduct business of trading spices to many different individuals across the Caribbean, most notably "delicious long pork" acquired at Isla de Pelegostos, home of the cannibalistic Pelegostos Tribe. The ship was docked at Tortuga when Will Turner approached the Shrimper in search of Jack Sparrow and the Black Pearl, the very ship which the shrimper happened to have noticed at the Pelegosto island. The shrimper transported Turner to the island, but left his brother to take him ashore in a rowboat.[1][2]
Behind the scenes[]
- The Shrimper's boat first appeared in the 2006 junior novelization for the film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest,[1][2] where it was portrayed by St. Peter.[3][4]
