King was a title given to a male member of a royal family who is the supreme ruler of his nation.

George I was the King of Great Britain for most of the 18th century and then was succeeded by his son, George II. Ferdinand VI was also King of Spain throughout the mid-18th century. The leader of the Brethren Court was known as the Pirate King, but is chosen by popular vote rather than royal blood. The infamous pirate Stone-Eyed Sam ruled Isla Esquelética as a king. Pharaoh Taharka was the equivalent to a king in Kerma.
