Chain Reaction! is a comic short story published in the February 2005 Disney Adventures, set in the Pirates of the Caribbean world and published under the Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl title.
Synopsis[]
While sailing on the Black Pearl, Captain Jack Sparrow spots a merchant vessel. Looking aboard, he sees what appear to be two ladies in dresses. However, they turn around and reveal themselves as Ragetti and Pintel in disguise.
The ship, manned by Jack's former crew, opens fire. To avoid being taken, Jack orders his crew to fire chain-shot at the rigging to slow the enemy ship down. Jack sails away safely.
After getting away, Jack is thinking about the fact that it was a trap, but the bait is real; the ship is full of gold. Jack decides to go back for the gold.
Jack heads back to the cursed pirates ship and shoot the crew with chain shot. Quickly, the crew has been dragged to the ocean floor by the chain-shot. Jack gets the treasure, but knows that the cursed pirates will be back.
