The Escape from the Spanish Gold Mine was an escape by pirate prisoners from a gold mine in Hispaniola. Jack Sparrow freed Will Turner, who he had forgotten to rescue during the Attack on the Interceptor.
Jack Sparrow secured the keys for Will's shackles, and the two decided to fight their way out of the mines. They used mine carts to blow up barricades, and rescued a fat Pirate. Then, he worked his way to free yet another pirate, so the two pirates operated an elevator for Jack and Will to enter the higher ground. But now, a Spanish officer commanded his soldiers to fire at will and destroy the mine carts before they could cause any more damage to the mine. But it was too late, for Jack and Will killed the attacking musketeers and secured their freedom after blowing up the last remaining obstacles in their path and reaching the HMS Interceptor.
- It is unknown if this was a real event, or just made up to prevent Jack Sparrow's execution at Fort Alvo Grande until Elizabeth Swann arrived.
