Shortly after the Battle of Calypso's maelstrom, the HMS Endeavour had fallen under bombardment by both the Flying Dutchman and the Black Pearl. This unnamed officer ran up to the helm with Greitzer. With Beckett paralyzed with fear, Lieutenant Groves gave the order to abandon ship. The unnamed officer was most likely killed by cannonfire or drowned in the warm waters below.
