Weatherby Swann[src]

This woman was the mother of Elizabeth Swann and the wife of Governor Weatherby Swann.

Biography[]

A woman of English origin, at some point of her life she married Governor Weatherby Swann and eventually she gave birth to her daughter Elizabeth Swann. At some point around the 1710s, Elizabeth's mother passed away prior to the Swann family's sailing from the crossing of England to Port Royal.[2]

Legacy[]

Posthumously, Elizabeth Swann's mother gained a son-in-law when blacksmith and pirate Will Turner married Elizabeth during the battle of Calypso's maelstrom.[2] She also eventually became grandmother with the birth of Elizabeth's and Will's son Henry Turner.[3]

Notes and references[]

  1. The timeline established in On Stranger Tides (which takes place in 1750) and Dead Men Tell No Tales (which takes place in 1751) sets the Swanns' crossing from England to Jamaica around 1720. Since Elizabeth's mother was not with her family in that moment that implies she died some time earlier. However, the exact date of her death still has to be officially confirmed by The Walt Disney Company.
