Vessels such as the Black Pearl[1] and the Flying Dutchman[2] contained brigs. The British Royal Navy warships like the Monarch and the Essex also contained brigs.[3]

- In Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales when Hector Barbossa magically restored the Black Pearl to her true size he captured Jack Sparrow and had him tied to the foremast. In Jeff Nathanson's 2013 early draft of the script Jack was imprisoned in the brig of the Queen Anne's Revenge.[4]
