The Blue Bayou was a quiet bayou located in Louisiana. In the evening fireflies were known to lazily hover around the bayou. A thin layer of mist would often float over the waters surface in the blue bayou.
The inhabitants of the bayou typically live in house-boats and elevated shacks, situated in the middle of the swamp. One such inhabitant would string out placid southern tunes upon his banjo.
The Blue Bayou was inhabited by vast array of swamp-dwelling creatures, such as the audibly present crickets and frogs, as well as the concealed alligators.

- A reference to the Blue Bayou appears in Dead Man's Chest, where fireflies can be seen outside Tia Dalma's elevated shack.
