Angelica and Blackbeard[src]

This woman was the mother of Angelica and the wife of Blackbeard.

A woman of Spanish origin, at some point in her life she fell in love with the infamous pirate Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard. Later, she gave birth to a daughter, Angelica. After her untimely death, Blackbeard took his daughter to a Spanish convent, where she was raised by nuns.[1] As Angelica matured to be a young woman, she would have inherited some of her mother's traits.[2]

Behind the scenesEdit

  • The name of Angelica's mother is currently unknown. According to legend, Blackbeard had 14 wives, but only the name of his 14th wife, Mary Ormond, was recorded.
